Our Lean Six Sigma certifications are lifetime certifications.  They do not need to be renewed to stay current.  However, recipients are encouraged to continue their education and development after certification.

Previous work experience is encouraged but not required.  For those with experience, it can help them provide additional value in their current role.  For those without experience, it can help provide a gateway into a role that has process improvement responsibilities.

With all of our certifications, when the exam is passed, recipients are sent a digital copy of their certification, which can be downloaded as a PDF and shared via LinkedIn.  Additionally, for the Yellow Belt, Green Belt, and Black Belt certifications, recipients are also sent a physical copy in the mail.

No.  As an example, you do not need to earn the Yellow Belt certification prior to pursuing the Green Belt certification.  It is encouraged but not required.

Yes, we strive to follow guidance in the ISO/IEC 17024 international standard, "General requirements for bodies operating certification of persons."

In order to make a minor adjustment to the name on your certification, go to the online certification portal (the link was in your notification e-mail), sign in, and click on the “More” button below the certification.  Then, select “Request Name Change.”

Yes, when you receive your formal certification document, it will also include a digital badge.  Those badges can be added to your email signature, social media profile, website, or business card.  Here are more details on the digital badges.

The White Belt exam is available directly within your training course.  To access the Yellow, Green, and Black Belt exams (since they are proctored), go to exam.sixsigmasociety.org and login with the credentials provided when you signed up.  (As a note, your exam credentials are different from your training course credentials.  Your course credentials are provided immediately, and your exam credentials are typically provided within 24 hours.)  If you have not seen the e-mail, you are encouraged to check your junk folder or use the "forgot" button to reset your password.

The White Belt is 30 questions, the Yellow Belt is 60 questions, the Green Belt is 90 questions, and the Black Belt is 120 questions.  For additional details about each certification exam, refer to certifications.sixsigmasociety.org.

The White Belt is untimed, the Yellow Belt is 90 minutes (1.5 hours), the Green Belt is 120 minutes (2 hours), and the Black Belt is 150 minutes (2.5 hours).  For additional details about each certification exam, refer to certifications.sixsigmasociety.org.

Our Yellow, Green, and Black Belt exams utilize AI-based proctoring, and so they can be taken anytime.  They do not need to be scheduled in advance.  Simply log onto the exam portal (exam.sixsigmasociety.org), when you are ready.  Also, the exams can be taken in any quiet room that is free from outside distractions and interference.  (Home offices are common, if those are available.)  For additional details about each certification exam, refer to certifications.sixsigmasociety.org.

For the Yellow, Green, and Black Belt exams, you will need a computer, microphone, and webcam.  For complete technical requirements and other guidance, refer to prep.sixsigmasociety.org.

No, learners are not permitted to use study materials or other resources while they take an exam.  For additional details about each certification exam, refer to certifications.sixsigmasociety.org.

Yes.  During the White Belt exam, since it is not proctored, you can use a calculator on your smartphone or computer.  However, during the Yellow Belt, Green Belt, and Black Belt exams, you are only permitted to use the calculator built into the exam software.  For additional details about each certification exam, refer to certifications.sixsigmasociety.org.

For the Yellow, Green, and Black Belt exams, you are allowed one retake.  If you fail on the retake attempt, you can contact us at [email protected] for next steps.  You will have the opportunity to purchase another retake.  For additional details about each certification exam, refer to certifications.sixsigmasociety.org.
